Lightweight Crystal “Choo Choo” Delgado, 2-0, picked up her second win with an impressive performance versus previously unbeaten Maria Rodriguez, 2-1 of Brownsville, Texas. These two young ladies matched up well in size and skill which made for an entertaining contest, but Delgado proved to be the quicker of the two and showed more desire to win by finishing the match strong. They stood face to face for the majority of the fight trading power punches, until Rodriguez wore down and Delgado was able to land at a higher percentage in the later rounds and cause swelling over Rodriguez’s eyes.  Delgado won by a four-round unanimous decision, with judges scores of 40-36 on all cards.  Report by Michael J. Ada "The Ace" Velez defeated Kasha Chamblin with a 10-rd unanimous decision, and won the vacant IBA super bantamweight world title.  Final judges scores were 98-92, 97-93, 100-90   In the Daily Advertiser by sports writer Grant Alexander, he reported the following: That the entire fight, Velez was like a stubborn bulldog that Chamblin couldn't figure out. That in the eighth round, Velez hit Chamblin so hard that the snot flew out of her nose - literally knocking the snot out of her. But Chamblin fought back with a flurry to start the ninth round. Following Chamblin's attack, Velez seemed to smile as if to say, "OK, now it's my turn." Valez then countered with a flurry of her own and any chance of Chamblin coming away with a decision was dead. Chamblin was a very good sport about the fight and gave her props to Velez, by saying, “She [Velez] was class all the way, both in the ring and out of it.” Chamblin is hoping to get a rematch with Velez to win the IBA belt. Also, Yvonne Reis UD4 over Valerie Mahfood.

November 10, 2007 - Silver Reef Casino - Ferndale, WA
Two northwest women, as well as one from Las Vegas and a California transplant, stepped in to the ring in welterweight bouts at the Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale, Washington. Of the northwesterners, one looked sharp, the other showed improvement. Molly McConnell, 144,  looked every bit the skilled boxer as she faced Angie Dauenhaur, 146. McConnell started the fight pumping a jab to Dauenhaur's face, and in reality, that would have been the only punch she would have needed to win the fight as Dauenhaur had little defense, and rarely threw anything in return. Dauenhaur, who held her hands head high, left her body open, and McConnell went to work there. There was a moment late in the opening round when a McConnell right to the body stung Dauenhaur. Dauenhaur was hurt to the point that the fight could have been stopped, she was doing little to defend herself, but to her credit she stood in to finish the round. Thirty seconds in to the second round after taking another wicked body shot, Dauenhaur turned her back to McConnell. That signaled the end. The referee let the action continue for a short time, but when Dunerhaur dropped to a knee, the fight ended. McConnell scored the TKO win at 1:21 of the second round.  Tammie Johnson and Jana Simms went toe to toe again. In October Johnson won a four round unanimous decision. The result here would be the same. Too often in the fight Simms found herself out of position, thus she threw punches from awkward angles. That also meant Johnson had to adjust her attack. Had Johnson been able to step in and throw her jab straight up the middle at Simms, the fight might have been over soon. There were a number of times in each round when a Johnson left would catch Simms, and while she winced, Simms did not back away. In the third round it appeared that Johnson may have reaggravated a bruise on her right hand as she threw it less often. And when she did it was often a looping right, thus less effective than her earlier punches. Nonetheless, Johnson again shut Simms out. All judges scored the fight 40-36.
