ROUND 1
Hollie Dunaway starts rather aggressively. Regina seems to feel the weight of her punches, for she keeps her distance, but it’s clear that the real fight hasn’t started yet.

ROUND 2
Hollie takes the initiative again, she is very quick on her feet and moves around a lot using all the space in the ring. Regina counters effectively and finds her mark more often, though she hasn’t completely adapted to Dunaway’s aggressive style yet.

ROUND 3
Halmich ventures to get closer now and clearly takes control. At 1’16” in the round, she hits her opponent with a very nice left hook.

ROUND 4
Dunaway keeps on trying, reaching Halmich’s face from time to time but quite often missing.  She moves very fast but consumes a lot of energy this way. Regina keeps the fight under control countering nicely using mainly left jabs, hooks and body shots.

ROUND 5
Halmich immediately moves forward now, and does no longer seem very impressed with Hollie’s skills. Halfway through the round, she repeatedly hits her with her left hook.  The fight is interrupted for about 15 seconds when Dunaway loses her mouth piece. (After the fight, Regina will say that this was probably a trick to gain some time).
In the final moments, Hollie absorbs another series of punches to the head.

After this round, the televiewers can hear Hollie’s cornermen tell her to keep up her hands, otherwise she’ll run into difficulties. A sound piece of advice indeed.

ROUND 6
Regina continues to demonstrate her superior skills. She’s far more effective and uses her energy more sparingly.

ROUND 7
There’s not a lot of action in the opening minute, but then Regina comes through with her left hook again. She dominates the rest of the round as well.

ROUND 8
Dunaway shows less and less resistance now. She keeps moving a lot, but Halmich keeps landing solid combinations, especially targeting Hollie’s head.

ROUND 9
There are quite a few exchanges, both fighters throwing an equal amount of punches, but Regina’s being far more effective.

ROUND 10
Hollie attempts one more time to impose herself, but her attacks look a bit clumsy, for she’s clearly getting tired. In the second part of the round, Regina gives her some more punishment.

RESULT: Regina Halmich wins by unanimous decision

scorecards: Dave ParrisaHJHh (Great Britain): 99-91
Bernd Andreasen (Denmark): 99-91
Arno Pokrant (Germany): 98-92

Hollie Dunaway, looking stunning in her pink sports bra and silver-white skirt, showed that she has both the heart and the mind of a true warrior, she kept trying incessantly but she clearly hasn’t (yet) got the experience to beat someone like Halmich. She managed to put her under certain pressure at times, but never had her in any sort of trouble.

Immediately after the bout, Regina thanks the audience but also her opponent for giving her such a good fight. She adds that she admires Hollie’s courage.

In an interview afterwards, Dunaway readily concedes her defeat. When asked what she thinks of a rematch between Halmich and Reid, she says that with both fighters having learned from the experience, she expects the second confrontation to be even better than the first.
