Karrie Frye, a fighter who took the 
boxing fans by surprise....

Karrie Frye, at 6' tall, she is a lean and quick handed fighter who has already fought on a high profile card against Maria Johansson, a daughter of boxing legend Ingemar Johansson.

Frye, is from Michigan City, Indiana, and was born on June 19, 1973. She was always into sports, and played many sports, including playing on a male baseball team in high school, track, basketball, and karate (Tae Kwon Do.)

Karrie started training with Malcolm Garrett, and it did not take him long to see her talents. She boxed in the1999 Chicago Golden Gloves, and she boxed in the super-heavyweight division, due to her weight class not having anyone to fight. She defeated her opponent.

Highlights of her boxing career:

September 11, 1999
– Civic Auditorium, Laporte, Indiana. Frye TKO'd Fay Steffen 0:46 seconds of the first round.

January 15, 2000 - Civic Auditorium, Laporte, Indiana. Frye lost her first fight against Marjorie Jones of Milwaukee, Wisconsin by losing after being KO'd in the first round. Frye's record dropped to 2-1 (2KO's).   Frye was struck in the throat, and could not breathe, the fight was ended 1:30 seconds in the first round.

March 26, 2000 - Civic Auditorium, Laporte, Indiana, Frye rematched with Marjorie Jones and KO'd her 0:32 seconds in the first round.

May 26, 2000 - Civic Auditorium,  Laporte, Indiana, Frye TKO'd Mattie Brumley of Indianapolis in the fourth. Frye's record moved to 4-1 (4KO).

June 18, 2000The Regent Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, Frye received instant recognition for her fight with Maria Johansson. The fight lasted four rounds, and Frye won by a split decision. She is now 5-1 (4KO). Full photo gallery with fight report.
