Morrison WIns by TKO over Davis

(OCT 31) ON October 27, 2007, at the Northern Lights Casino, in Walker, Minnesota, lightweight (133-lb) D.J. Morrison, of Billings, Montana, TKO’d Kirstie Davis, in the second round of a scheduled four-rounder.  According to news sources,  Morrison said that she stayed focus and did a lot of body shots, and hit her in the face a lot.

(OCT 29) WBAN was notified early today that Layla McCarter of Las Vegas is in New Zealand, where she will be fighting Daniella Smith, in a six rounder in the welterweight division. The weigh-in will be held on Thursday, and she will be fighting this Friday.

Skovgaard Wins by TKO over Bedö

(OCT 28) Last night in Copenhagen, Vinni Skovgaard won her fourth pro fight against Zsófia Bedö of Hungary. Bedö made her pro debut, and was thrown in at the deep end, against a very focused and determined Vinni Skovgaard. Although Bedö showed good defensive skills and kept her guard up well, she was not able to avoid Skovgaard's combinations, nor did she manage to worry the Dane by any telling punches.  Full Story

Acuna Wins by eight-round decision
October 28, 2007

(OCT 28) Last night in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in what was described as a stellar fight, super bantamweight Marcela Acuna, won by an eight-round unanimous decision over Claudia Andrea Lopez. Judges scores were 77-75, 79-77 and 78-76. According to one news source, López fought with a great deal of conviction and gave a very good account of herself.  The fight was over 8 rounds and neither woman´s belt was at stake.

(OCT 23) On Indianapolis, IN - On Friday night, Octavius James/One In A Million Inc. promoted their first event in Indy, "The Circle City Rumble," before an enthusiastic crowd. In the first bout, Chicago super featherweight Evette Collazo (2-0, 2 KOs), a former 2-time Chicago Golden Gloves Champion, quickly over powered Milwaukee's Kelah Pollari (0-4). (OCT 21) WBAN has received an update on Holland's Esther Schouten who has been out of the picture for awhile---but for just cause.  Schouten told WBAN, "It's been a while since you heard anything about or around me...That's because after a long time of being tired, losing power and not recovering after my training, the doctors found out that I had cancer."  Full Story

(OCT 21) Saturday saw the finals of the 6th Women Amateur Championships. 137 boxers from 27 countries competed in 13 weight divisions, from 46 kgs (102 lbs) to 86 kgs (190 lbs). A total of 124 bouts were fought to find the 13 new European Champions. Three countries - Russia, Turkey and Ukraine - had registered competitors in all 13 weight ..Full Story

(OCT 16) On Saturday, October 13th, WBC Straw Wt. Champion Carina Moreno was honored at the World Boxing Hall of Fame in Ontario Ca.
