Women's Boxing On Fire with Two Great Female bouts on September 10th!
by Sue TL Fox
July 4, 2022

(JULY 4) WBAN is happy to report that the "Fire" is continuing with some of the female championship bouts that are taking place in 2022.  On September 10, 2022,  at the 02 Arena, in London, England, there are two dynamic female bouts on the card.  In one Mikaela Mayer, 17-0-0 (5KO), from Woodland Hills, California, fighting currently out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, will be fighting Alycia Baumgardner, 12-10 (7KO), a definite rising star in the sport.
Mayer, has been boxing professionally since 2017, and has taken on some very tough competition in some of her fights that include defeating Jennifer Han, Maiva Hamadouche, Erica Farias, Ewa Brodnicka, and more.  Baumgardner, had delivered Terri Harper her first loss by TKO in the fourth round, and has had some impressive stoppages in her pro career.

In a second great matchup Claressa Shields, 12-0-0 (2KO), has fought some great competition that includes Christina Hammer, Hanna Gabriel, Nikki Adler, Francho Crews-Dezurn, and qualified for the rarely approved WBAN P4P belt, when she fought Tori Nelson, on January 12, 2018.  [The WBAN P4P Belt is not based on sanctioning fees (there are none); only the best fighting the best, and at the time Tori Nelson was 17-0-3, when Shields defeated her by a ten-round unanimous decision where Shields was also fighting on that fight for the WBC and IBF Super Middleweight titles.)

Shields will be fighting the Savannah Marshall, also, 12-0-0 (10 KOs)only female boxer who defeated her "way in the past" in the amateurs---so this should be an absolute amazing fight between these two.

The fights between both female bouts will be the following:

Shields vs. Marshall - unification title bout for the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO Middleweight titles.

Mayer vs. Baumgardner - unification title bout for the WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO super featherweight titles.

These are the types of fight cards that keep women's boxing on fire in the sport!!
