Alcivar vs. Fuentes Bout ends in a "no Contest" in the Fourth Round
August 15, 2015

(AUG 15)  Last night at the Laredo Energy Arena, in Laredo, Texas, featured on a  Triple-A Promotions card,  Patricia "Patty Boom Boom" Alcivar, 113.5,  and Mandy Fuentes, 115,  fought to a fourth round "No Contest" when Alcivar received a substantial cut over her left eye, where she ultimately received five stitches.

The two were scheduled to fight ten rounds for the 115-lb vacant NABF Super flyweight title.

Both Alcivar and Fuentes were disappointed that the fight was stopped due to the injury, but we have been told that they will more than likely be fighting in a rematch.

According to boxing fans who were at the fight, they reported that it was a toe-to-toe battle and that both performed well in the ring.

In a post-fight comment, Fuentes said, "I would like to thank everyone attending last night's .  It was a bittersweet moment for me once again...this won't stop me to accomplish my dream and I  have to keep moving forward! All I can say is THANK YOU to my family, fans, promoter Fito Martinez, and the BEST TEAM Los Dos Laredos for not giving up on me and always supporting me through this..This will not break me just make me stronger!" Till I hear that bell once again a que chingarle mas! Arriba Los Dos Laredos Triple A Promotions of course my Budweiser Fam!"

Alcivar said, "I was extremely disappointed that the bout ended in a 'no Contest' from a vicious headbutt that required 5 stitches immediately. I look forward to returning to the ring to face Fuentes or a future opponent."

A special thanks to Mario Rojas for permission to post some of the photos that took place at the weigh-in and the fight of these two warriors!
