(NOV 22)  Yesterday at the Orleans casino in Las Vegas, Layla "the Amazing" McCarter defeated Melissa "Huracan" Hernandez in their third match. Layla won for the second time giving Hernandez a great performance and looking very good despite she hasn’t fought in more than two years. She got a unanimous decision over a confused and a slow Melissa Hernandez.

The judges scored: 80-72, 79-73 and 80-72 in favor of the Las Vegas resident, McCarter.  It was a good fight but it didn’t reach the expectations due to the trouble that "La tiburona" had to move around the ring, using her legs and to avoid taking punches from a focused and determined McCarter.

Layla began to use her jab since the very first round and continued doing it during the whole fight. Melissa was waiting to counter punch but it was useless and she was surprised when Layla knock her down with very strong punches to the head.

In the beginning rounds, both fighters touched heads having Layla with the worst part, her left side of the face began to swell but it didn’t stop her on her way to the victory.

Melissa was being more aggressive in the fifth round but in an excited exchange of fired punches, she was saved by the belt. Hernandez was trying to control Layla and she had a better round in the sixth but not enough to success because Layla was ahead in the score cards.

It was a good fight and at the dressing rooms, Layla was happy but not completely satisfied with her performance (she thought she could have done much better) and Melissa was sad and analyzing the possible mistakes in the bout to make improvements in her future bouts.
