Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Masa Bacanov is set to make her first
competitive visit to the UK next week, when she takes on British
prospect Marianne ‘Golden Girl’ Marston, on the Dave Murphy
Acourtier Events NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS mega event, at York Hall in
Bethnal Green, London on Friday 4th October 2013.
Whilst relatively new to pro boxing, twenty year old Masa is far
better known within the world of kickboxing, having fought
regularly in the discipline, including major international
competitions, both as a junior and senior, since 2009.
Her extensive martial arts experience has clearly aided Masa in
her pugilistic aspirations, in her last pro boxing outing,
Masa was involved in an all out war, with fellow countrywoman,
Maja Jahic, after four sensational action filled rounds referee
Ismail Bosnjak just couldn’t split the two warriors, instead
opting to score the storming battle a draw.
Speaking from her home Masa made it crystal clear that she
wasn’t coming to England to just make up the numbers, as she
“I’m coming to London to win, I don’t know any other way.
I’m looking forward to fighting in England, I’ve fought a lot in
international competitions, fighting in other countries is OK
I will be stronger fighting at Super Bantamweight, I will have
the advantage, Marianne is a natural Super Bantamweight, but I
will bring my power.
I’ve watched Marianne fight, it will be a very good fight, I am
confident I will win our fight.”
Marianne Marston versus Masa Bacanov, will feature on the Dave
Murphy Acourtier Events promoted ‘NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS’ event,
headlined by Michel Trabant vs TBA and Jennifer Retzke versus
Angel McKenzie World title clashes, at York Hall in Bethnal
Green, London on Friday, 4th October 2013
