(MAR 3) Former Heavyweight Champion Martha Salazar, 11-4-0 is making a comeback Saturday, April 13 of 2013 at the Lions Gate Convention Center in Sacramento, California,  in the co- Main Event on the OPP Promotions Card. Salazar the former WBF and WBE Champion last fought in 2007 when she went through the Heavy Weight division fighting all the opponents and landed her last fight with Vonda Ward losing the WBC title by a decision.

From 2001 – 2007 Salazar had fought all the heavy weights in the division. She fought and lost 2 decisions to Vonda Ward. She beat Kathy Rivers, Marsha Valley, Pamela London, soundly beat Keisha Snow, Carley Presente, Tanisha Dunn and Denise Callahan but there was no one left.

So here we are 2013 and there are several ranked Heavy Weights out there who want to fight Salazar. #1 ranked Sonya Lamonakis 7-0-2 and #2 ranked Carlette Ewell 15-7-1 who fought to a draw in NYC in January 2012. We cannot forget Tiffany Woodard #6 ranked who fought Lamanokis to a draw in NYC in June of 2012.

Martha Salazar says she wants to fight the best in the world. When we offered #1 ranked Lamonakis, 7-0-2 , the bout she immediately wanted the fight. This bout is great for the Heavy Weight Division and a great for female boxing. Sue Fox from WBAN will also be attending this event as both of these females have good reputations and will represent the sport well.

Team Salazar’s manager and gym owner Blanca Gutierrez and former light weight world champ and coach Eliza Olson can tell you this, “OPP Productions is giving the Heavy Weight females a chance to shine and the Salazar and Lamonakis fight will bring the crowd to their feet. It’s exciting and we are thankful that there are promoters like OPP supporting female boxing.”

{WBAN's Sue TL Fox will be attending this boxing card ringside].
