WBAN has announced formative steps towards establishing an INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S BOXING HALL OF FAME. A IWBHF website will be designed for Facebook in the near future. IWBHF on Facebook

To date, IWBHF board members include: Tokyo Rosenthal, Alex "The Bronx Bomber" Ramos, Krysti Rosario, Bernie McCoy, Malissa Smith, Michael O'Neill, Rick McLean, and myself.

The initial IWBHF induction ceremony is currently scheduled for July, 2014 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in conjunction with the 2014 Women's National Golden Gloves

Such recognition of the sport of female boxing and those who have contributed to the sport's emergence and growth, over the years, has been long overdue and WBAN is proud and privileged to take the lead in recognizing and honoring those athletes and figures in the boxing community who have distinguished themselves in and out of the ring during the present history of the sport.

The  International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame [IWBHF] is to honor the pro female boxers (retired), and men and women who work outside the ring that have significantly attributed to the promotion and development of the sport, and by their participation in the sport and/or contributors, and by the example of their lives, merit acknowledgment by all individuals involved in the sport of boxing.

The primary mission of the IWBHF will be call honorary attention to those professional female boxers (now retired) along with men and women whose contributions to the sport and it's athletes, from outside the ring, have been instrumental in growing female boxing.

The non-boxer inductees will be individuals who, in the opinion of the IWBHF board, have distinguished themselves through extraordinary efforts in the promotion and development of female boxing by providing competitive opportunities for female boxers in the ring and/or providing increased awareness and positive exposure for female boxing and it's athletes within the sporting public.

CATEGORIES:

Retired Female Boxers- must be retired from active professional fighting for five years. No currently active female boxer will be eligible unless granted a waiver approved by the IWBHF board. **

Pioneer Female Boxers- A  Pioneer/Past boxer will be any fighter who fought in the ring prior to 1990.

Non-Participants/Professional Level- photographer (singular). place judge (lower case) next to referee (continue with one sentence) "who has spent a minimum of ten years involved with and/or in support of female boxing."**

Non Participant/Amateur Level- photographer (singular). place judge (lower case) next to referee (continue with one sentence) "who has spent a minimum of ten years involved with and/or in support of female boxing."**

Waiver: the board reserves the option to waive the five year retirement restriction, on a case/case basis. Such a waiver will require a majority vote of the board.

The International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame is WORLDWIDE in scope.

For our Yearly Inductees with the IWBHF

The Hall of Fame Inductees will receive a beautiful plaque in recognition of their contributions in the sport.

The IWBHF will hold a dinner to have the inductees in attendance to celebrate their induction.  Inductees unable to attend will receive their plaque by mail.

On the IWBHF website there will be a permanent pictorial and written history of each inductee along with various memorabilia that may be available from the WBAN achieve.
