(JAN 30) WBAN just recently
connected with Sandy Tsagouris, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to
find out what she has been up to since her last fight in April
of 2011. Tsagouris fought as a professional from
2004 to 2011. Tsagouris told WBAN the following:
"So its been almost a year since
I gave birth to my very healthy baby girl Celina. Motherhood has
been a big change but nonetheless she's an amazing baby and she
has made the adjustment nothing but easy on me. I healed very
quick and was in the gym five weeks later and have been ever
since.
I started off with my mind set to
continuing boxing and was back to hard training, along the way
my coach and I got side tracked which resulted in a falling out
which then lead to my decision to quit.
I know everyone is thinking
'easy'.... Find another coach. Not that easy! Due to the fact
that I have a baby it's not that easy to find a gym with daycare
(especially boxing gyms) and she's not at the age where she can
sit and watch either.
Billy and I have a long history
and have put in a lot of time and effort into creating 'Lil
Tyson'. It's very hard to move on to another coach and start
from scratch and not that I have anything against any trainer
out there. I just feel that the level of training I've reached
with Billy has given us this great team which is very hard to
compete with.
Although we have had this huge
falling out after several months we have become friends
again.... Although we may not see eye to eye on boxing, I
will always be thankful for our journey, our achievements and
all the many great fans we've met!
Boxing has been a huge part of my
life for so long its almost hard to train with out a purpose. I
know people would have loved to see a fight between myself and
Garside. You never know... Boxers always having a hard time
hanging up those damn gloves. Lol"
WBAN comments: We would like to thank Sandy for taking
the time to let boxing fans know what she has been up to since
last fighting---maybe we can persuade her to venture back in the
ring--she is a great "Lil" boxer for sure!
