Alcivar Wins by
a Decision

March 7, 2011

(MAR 7) On Friday, March 4th, in Woodhaven, New York, Patricia "Patty Boom Boom" Alcivar remains undefeated with a 4-0-0 (3KO) record when she won by a four round  unanimous decision over Laura Gomez 3-3 of Mexico.

Alcivar set the pace from the opening bell by pressing the action and overwhelming the Mexican fighter. Alcivar, the former two-time NYC Golden Gloves and National Champion impressed  her hometown crowd for the first time as a professional fighter starting with her ring entrance proudly displaying her Colombian heritage to the final bell of non stop action.

According to a press release that WBAN received about this fight, it stated the following, "The constant pressure by Alcivar noticeably frustrated Gomez as the Sonra Mexico native resorted to noticable fouls of grabbing behind the head and intentionally headbutting the NYC native."

Alcivar said after the fight that she felt Gomez was ready to go a few times but was constantly tied up and held by the Gomezr who was simply fighting to survive the fight. This was the first fight that it went the distance for Alcivar with the final judges scores of  40-36.
