News Flash:  Schouten Defends Title and Announces Retirement
by John E.G. Wilson
October 23, 2010

(OCT 23) On Monday night, October 18th, 2010, at the famous Theatre Carre in Amsterdam, Netherlands,  ESTHER SCHOUTEN the beautiful local girl successfully defended her Womens' International Boxing Federation Super Bantamweight World Championship title on points over 10 rounds against spirited JUDY WAGUTHII from Nairobi, Kenya.

SCHOUTEN had announced that this would be her last professional fight, but following a tip off, your correspondent, in a post fight interview with her learned of her plans to fight for NEDERLAND'S as an AMATEUR in the 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES IN LONDON ENGLAND! "

[Comment from WBAN on this news:  We hope that pro boxers are not included in the 2012 Olympics. We have been hearing this from China, Germany, and now the Netherlands, and we hope that only amateurs are included in this event---the pros are the pros, the amateurs are the amateurs).
