Morelli to fight in Aachen
by Torben L. of Denmark
November 17, 2009

(NOV 17) Lucia Morelli (13-1-0) returns to the ring on Saturday 21st November in Aachen, Germany. She will be facing southpaw Daniela David (4-17-0) of Romania in a 10-round junior welterweight bout.

Like many eastern European women boxers, David has fought most of her battles away from home and she has faced top class boxers like Anne Sophie Mathis (3 times), Melinda Cooper, Nathalie Toro, Ramona Kuehne, Myriam Lamare and Myrian Chomaz (2 times).

Morelli's last appearance in the ring took place in Herning, Denmark in September this year, as challenger to Cecilia Brækhus' WBA and WBC titles. She put on good performance against Brækhus, who was able to keep her titles, but admitted afterwards that it had been her toughest fight so far.

The will also be two additional female bouts that will include the following:   Welterweight Jessica Balogun (12-1-0) will be fighting Serbian Eva Halasi (4-1-0) in a 10 round bout; and Dahianna Santana (20-5-0) of the Domnican Republik vs. Armenian Agneza Boza (5-2-0) in a 10-round featherweight division.
