(JULY 1) Today at 2:00 p.m., at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa, in Las Vegas, Nevada, American Boxing Promotions held their Press Conference for show billed as "Fireworks "The Rematch" in the South Point Arena. There was plenty of media on hand as well as fans, family and fighters.

In the Main Event Five time world champion Layla McCarter lays both the WBA and the GBU belts on the line when she meets the #4 ranked Fujin Raika on Friday July 3rd. While both women showed each other a great deal of respect at the press conference, Raika spoke first and made it very clear that she came here to win.

When Layla came to Japan seven years ago, I lost the belt to her, she said through her interpreter, I have come to take it home to Japan. Never at a loss for words, McCarter stepped up and thanked everyone for coming and after expressing her appreciation she leaned down,  picked up the WBA Belt and said...."Well here it is, come and get it" So, tomorrow afternoon at 4pm we have the weigh-in, a few more photo's and Friday night the action will start, and I imagine Raika will take McCarter up on that invitation.

McCarter looked ready to stand firm in her home town and Raika surely didn't cross an entire ocean without a fire in her heart.....yeah, looks like there might just be the fireworks they planned on!

In the co-main event Carlos Nascimento will meet Juan Pablo Montes de Oca, 10 rounds, in the 154 lbs. division.

Other undercard bouts include Antonio Mesquita vs. Hugo Correa at 154 lbs., at 6 rounds.

Jose Pachecos vs. Omar Valencia at 120 lbs.,  4 rounds.

David Springer vs. Rodrigo Romero at 118 lbs., 4 rounds.
