"Boxing Fireworks" at South Point Casino
June 29, 2009

(JUNE 29) On July 3, 2009, at the South Point Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Layla "Amazing" McCarter, of Las Vegas, will face Fujin Raika (aka: Emiko Raika), of Tokyo, Japan, for the second time in the ring. The two will be fighting a 10-round (2 minute each round) title bout for the WBA and GBU title.

McCarter told WBAN, "I feel confident about my upcoming WBA and GBU title defenses against Fujin Raika. My team and I have prepared well and I am stronger than I've ever been. Raika is a strong competitor for whom I have much respect, but I feel that I have many advantages in technique, experience, and overall ring savvy that will help me to be victorious once again. I am happy that the July 3rd match will be held at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas where my friends and fans will be able to support me in what could be my toughest fight yet. "Fireworks, the Rematch" marks my 50th fight as a professional, and will be televised within a few weeks of the event. Details to come. Thanks to all my friends in boxing!"

Raika said through an interpreter, " I lost to McCarter in 2002, which was my first loss. But for this time I will revenge her and win. I have owned belts in three weight classes but this sure will be something different. I will definitely get this World Title belt!"
