Two Women's Bouts on July 11th Card in Houston
June 11, 2009

(JUNE 11) Calm Before the Storm Promotions would like to announce its upcoming boxing event on July 11, 2009, starting at 7:30 PM, at the San Miguel Arena, formerly known as the Plaza San Miguel. The fight card for this event will highlight some of Houston’s best warriors, including the likes of veteran Welterweight Jose Gutierrez (14-5, with 10 KO’s) and up & coming Bantamweight Johanna Mendoza (5-0, with 1 KO).

Featured on this card are crowd favorites: Welterweight Tiffany Junot, hailing from New Orleans (5-2, with 3 KO’s), Welterweight Lanard Lane, hailing from Philadelphia (6-0, with 5 KO’s), and Super Middleweight Terrance Woods, hailing from Bay City, Texas (4-0, with 3 KO’s).

Making his professional debut will be 2004 Flyweight Olympian Ron Siler. Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, this incredible athlete will begin his professional career at 115 pounds. In 1998, Siler first earned the U.S. National Amateur title at 106 pounds. He continued to fight at that weight through the 2000 Olympic trials. Then, in 2002, he stepped up a class to compete at 112 pounds. Now, Siler will test his professional courage in the only state big enough to handle an Olympic athlete: Texas!
