Amateur Boxing Action in Wuppertal
Photos/Story by
Torben L. of Denmark
April 28, 2009

(APR 28) BSU (Boxing Sport Union) in Wuppertal held it's 4th International Women's Boxing Tournament on April 25th and 26th. Approximately 85 boxers took part in the tournament, which is considered the biggest Women's Boxing Event in Germany, only matched with the German Championships as far as number of competitors is concerned. The full spectre of female boxers were represented, from young novices to the best women boxers from Switzerland, Poland, The Netherlands as well as several German Champions.

Your correspondent had the pleasure if following part of the tournament, i.e. Saturday evening and Sunday morning/afternoon, and was treated to some very good entertainment.   The bouts, with only a few exceptions, were a display of a very high standard of boxing skills. What a pity, that so few fans attended the event; they really missed out on a great opportunity to watch some very good women amateur boxers in action.
