(DEC 19) In what should be a highly entertaining bout, multi-world champion Holly Holm will be facing Miriam Lamare, 16-2 (9KO) of Marseille, Bouche-du Rhone, France, in the mainliner, for the WIBA Welterweight title. The bout will take place at the Isleta Casino and Resort, in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 23, 2009. The event is promoted by Fresquez Productions, Inc. The Holm-Lamare fight will definitely get 2009 off to a great start.

Another interesting tidbit for this card is that legendary Lucia Rijker will be in Miriam’s corner. Rijker who is not only an undefeated world champion, but she was featured in the movie, “Million Dollar Baby.”

Holly will be entering the ring with an impressive 21-1 (3KO), and moving down from Junior Middleweight to Welterweight. The 27-year-old 10 times World Champion Holly Holm has set numerous records and is certain that she will defend and keep her WIBA Welter Crown in her collection.

Holm made history with WBAN, by winning the first WBAN Independent Belt on June 13, 2008, when she fought and defeated Mary Jo Sanders.
