Team West Would Like to Set Record Straight
by Juan West
August 7, 2008

On behalf of Kaliesha West and as her manager, I would like to set the record straight with regard to Mr. Mestas response to our previous press release. Kaliesha is not scheduled to fight September 26th as was stated per Golden Boy. Steve personally witnessed Kaliesha defeat Amateur gold medalist and now former World Champion #5 Ranked Suszannah Warner. Kaliesha also defeated #7 Bantam ranked Carley Batey and #10 ranked featherweight Elizabeth Villarreal.

Additionally, Kaliesha also defeated retired Amateur gold medalist Stella Nijof. For Team Cruz to indicate that Kaliesha hasn't fought anyone, is baffling; the truth is that Kaliesha has over 70 bouts under her belt with numerous Amateur titles and is more than worthy to challenge Terri Lynn Cruz. As you are aware, women in boxing sometimes have to take what they can get, especially when most of the worthy opponents in Kaliesha's weight division are protecting there records.

As for Elizabeth Cervantes' 2-8 record, look her up on boxrec; Elizabeth has fought eight of the best fighters in the bantamweight division and at least Kaliesha didn't lose to a fighter with a losing record twice…remember Tracey Stevens, and Leona Brown? If Terri is so willing to fight, why must it be in Colorado, under Mestas promotions and under Team Cruz's terms and conditions? Let's do this on neutral grounds on TV so that young Kaliesha can shock the world! Yours truly, Juan West
