(JULY 16) Team Ramsey is looking to
defend the GBU Middleweight World Title Belt in August, but lacks a
promoter.
Laura "Lady Ram" Ramsey has been contacted by Barbara Butrick
(Female GBU Vice President) to defend the belt against Akondaye
Fountain of Texas by August 29, 2008.
Ramsey states that, "Fountain is the sole challenger since
January 2007 and now I have the burden of finding a promoter to
accept this offer on such short notice. The burden should lie on the
GBU. I should not have to train and seek promotions. It's already
hard enough just to get someone to fight.
[Ramsey has stated in this press release that she has tried to get a
fight with Natascha Ragosina, Mary Jo Sanders, Holly Holm, Gisselle
Salandy, and she has not been able to contact Gwendolyn O'Neil's
team].
"I have never had to dance around an opponent and I never will. I
just want to fight. At this pace my third grandson will be in
college," added Ramsey.
