"One of the fights that catches is the eye (on the undercard of tomorrow night's Garduño v Herrera bill in Metepec, Estado de México)," writes Abraham Hernández Villanueva of El Sol de Toluca, "is the one that pits Iveth Zamora against Ana Arrazola in the 49 kilo division, both being good fighters who hit hard."

Ana Fabiola Arrazola Domínguez (or "Bronca", as she is known) made history at the reunion in Cuautitlán Izcalli a few weeks ago by being the first mother to fight on the same card as her own son (12-year-old Juan Carlos "Bronquito" Contreras, seen here on the right), though of course only the mother was fighting professionally. Juan Carlos "Bronco" Contreras, 'the head of the family' (as the interviewer quaintly put it), worked the corner for both mother and child.

Originally from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Arrazola has been living since 1998 in Mexico State  - currently in La Loma (a suburb of Tlalnepantla). Although she originally took up the sport to lose weight after the birth of her second daughter, she has turned out to be a doughty competitor – as at least five opponents already have learned to their cost. Managed by Juan Carlos Contreras, Arrazola's target for 2007 is the NABF junior flyweight championship.
