St. John to be at Press Conference in Indiana
April 16, 2007

(APR 16) WBAN received a press release today that announced the following (excerpt): Ozzie Guillen, manager of the 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox and one of Chicagoland’s most beloved sports figures, has invited Mia “The Knock Out” St. John to be his guest at his 4 p.m. press conference at Cellular Field on Tuesday, April 17. Fight fans are invited to a number of Fight Week opportunities to meet St. John and the other One In A Million Inc. boxers before their April 20th “Fist of Fury” bouts at Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, IN.

Guillen, beloved for his Hall of Fame playing and coaching careers as well as his colorfully candid comments, is known to be a fight fan. “That’s great, because I’m a big baseball fan,”
St. John said. “I can’t wait to meet him, especially since he was the first Latino manager to win a World Series.”

In addition to St. John, “Merciless” Mary McGee, Jimmy “The Fighting School Teacher” Holmes (14-0-2, 7 KOs), Don Moore (10-0-1, 8 KOS), Nick Cook (14-1-1, 8 KOs) and Jason Cook (pro debut), will be available for autographs and photos at a number of Fight Week events.

Fans are invited to the following:

Wednesday, April 18th at 1 p.m.- Chicago’s official pre-fight press conference hosted by Players Bar & Grill, 551 N. Ogden (just north of Grand).

Wednesday, April 18th at 6:30 p.m.- Northwest Indiana’s official pre-fight press conference hosted by The Registry, 15 N. Court St. in Crown Point.

Thursday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m.- The official “Fist of Fury” weigh ins will be hosted by Langel’s Pizza, 2833 Highway Avenue in Highland, IN.

Chicagoland’s premier entertainment venue, The Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville is conveniently located just 45 minutes from Chicago. Simply take the Skyway to I-65 and exit at US 30. Doors open at 7 p.m. The first bout is at 8 p.m.
