Overview of the 2006 Women's National Golden Gloves
By Bonnie Canino
July 1, 2006

(JULY 21) The 2006 Women’s National Golden Gloves Tournament was a great success. It started on time every night, All the spectators, many who had never seen women’s boxing, only had good things to say about it. They are now women’s boxing fans. The boxers boxed their hearts out and all of them got the boxing fever. Win or lose they were all on a high note. The whole environment for the week was positive. I believe that the talent these girls demonstrated, educated the public on women’s boxing, and got the boxers experience, which was my goal.

I want to Thank all Women’s Boxers, coaches, family and friends who came out. These boxers demonstrated skills, heart and conditioning. We except our number of competitors will double by next year, and develop a fans base. We hope to get the right backing for this tournament, to increase the program of the Women’s Golden Gloves.
