When "A Ring of Their Own" bring their "Women of Mass Destruction" to Edmonton to the Shaw Conference Center on June 23, the faces will be familiar.

Mia St. John is returning to Edmonton for the third time. Her two previous appearances were ringside beside the former world champion "Flushing Flash" Kevin Kelley as color commentator.

But June 23rd,  Mia will be in the center of the ring as she battles Jelena Mrdjenovich for the vacant WIBF lightweight title. St. John has boxed in some of boxing’s most famous venues but is excited to return to Canada. "I love Canada and can’t wait to fight on the show June 23rd!" St John said, and commented on her opponent, Jelena Mrdjenovich’s 7 fight winning streak. Is she either intimidated or determined by Jelena’s streak? "Neither." stated St. John who will try and claim the WIBF lightweight title as she faces the 23 year old Canadian in her fifty-second fight. "Neither- I don’t care who she’s beaten- it doesn’t intimidate me. I get in the ring, I fight, I go on to the next job. I am hired to do a show – I am an entertainer and that’s what I do. I don’t fear anybody."

Jelena Mrdenovich is also making her third AROTO appearance against St. John and describes what she feels the series has done for her and the sport of women’s boxing. "It’s been great," Jelena said with enthusiasm." AROTO has been fantastic to deal with, all of the team. It’s (the series) great for women’s boxing and I think they’ve done wonderful things for the sport with regards to exposure and getting the women out there and their names heard. I think they can only do good things for the sport." As for the card on the 23rd, Mrdjenovich is sure boxing fans will see another excellent show. " KO Productions and Rock & Sock have teamed up again to put together more excitement, with Lisa Brown and Jeannine Garside fighting again- their first fight was good and this one will probably be even better, and I’m looking forward to the fight with Mia."

Lisa "Bad News" Brown will be fighting for AROTO the fourth time June 23 in her rematch with Jeannine Garside and echoes Mrdjenovich’s sentiments about the series. "I think it’s ( AROTO) having a good impact to the point where they are actually getting women to fight good fights and showcase their boxing skills. It’s a good thing Rock & Sock does- having AROTO to give the women a chance to get the opportunity to do what they do. And Brown is not shy about saying if she will fight for "AROTO" again. " ABSOLUTELY. I will fight anyone, anytime, anywhere," Brown says with confidence. "Just tell me and I’m there."

"A Ring of Their Own" has given me a lot of opportunities and they are doing good things with women’s boxing," Jeannine Garside says of the series that has seen her gain her first title and improve her record to 5-0. Not to be overlooking Lisa Brown, which Jeannine promises will be an action packed rematch, Garside is thinking forward to meeting the challenge of a few other fighters that are busy in some of her weight divisions, and thinks the series is the perfect way for her to meet her future opposition.
