(DEC 2) Tomorrow night there will be FOUR women’s boxing bouts on the
Magdeburg, Germany card, promoted by Universum. In a non-title bout,
Carolina Alvarez, 111.9, will be fighting Lucie Hornakova, 111.9.
Sahin (L) - Dobbs (R)
For the WIBF Intercontinental Flyweight Championship, Julia Sahin,
111.3, of Germany, will be fighting United States, Stephanie Dobbs,
111.3.
In another championship bout, for the WIBF Featherweight Championship,
Ina Menzer, 125.4, will be fighting Galina Gumliiska, 123.4. It was
originally reported that Menzer would be fighting Jeri Sitzes, but
according to Universum, Gumliiska is her opponent.
Reid (L) Dobbs (R)
In the
main event, and most anticipated bout of the evening, it will be the
battle between German’s highly popular Regina Halmich, 111.1, and United
States, Elena “Baby Doll” Reid, 110.4. In their first bout, that took
place in September of 2004, the decision was reported as “Scandalous”
when the fight was determined to be a majority draw. The German fans
gave great support to Reid for basically being ripped of that decision.
The two will be fighting for Halmich’s WIBF Flyweight Championship.
