'(OCT 23) Fighting in
front of her home crowd Friday night in Córdoba, Carolina “Chapita”
Gutiérrez (53.2 kg) took only 1 minute and 34 seconds to demolish
Lourdes Ocampo (52.7 kg) of Misiones, thereby retaining the Argentinian
bantamweight title. According to La Mañana, this was Gutiérrez's best
performance yet.
Cheered on by over a thousand spectators,
many of them women who had come specifically to see her, she went
looking for the finish from the opening bell, finding it two thirds of
the way through the round with a straight right that Ocampo took full in
the face. According to the same source, Ocampo collapsed into the ropes
before being counted out by referee Jorge Basile. |
