Belinszky Retains WIBF-GBU Title
Photos and report by JollyDee of Hungary
Hot photo galleries #282 and #283

(SEPT 5) On September 3rd,  at the Újlak School Gymnasium, Budapest, Hungary, in  the main event, Belinszky "Baby" Krisztina (16-4-2; 9KO's),  successfully defended her WIBF-GBU Minimumweight World title by a unanimous decision over American opponent Stephanie "All action" Dobbs (18-19-2; 10KO's).  The bout was action-packed throughout the 10 round bout. Scoring: Daniel Van de Wiele (BEL) 97-94,  Miklos Döry (HUN) 97:93, and Walter Shall (AUT) 100-92 for Belinszky.  Before the bout began, there was a one minute silence for Kartina's hurricane victims.

The match began heavily from both ladies, and they showed no emotional
signs. Stephanie was the aggressor, but Krisztina with light foot and dancing away, and she blocked from the start the American aggressive actions.

The next few rounds both boxers used the same techniques, with Stephanie forward attacks, and Krisztina with light-foot ducking and she controlled all with straight-left jabs. We already saw that Krisztina was technically more sound due to her previous amateur background--than Stephanie who tried every action with power punches.

From the second half it was unambiguous Krisztina controlled but she had
some little troubles so Stephanie punched very clearly and wake-up
Kristina's mind. In the last round her coach advice was Stephanie "put all
one's eggs in one basket", but it was of no consequence, or any
break-through so Krisztina beat off very easily.

It was a great time, and we hope we can see again another American opponent.  We would like to thank to Stephanie for having her in Hungary.

(In the opinion of JollyDee, he said that the  overall-picture of the contest equivalent Belinszky's wins, hometown yes or no she could have won this fight everywhere around the world. The final results without any question unanimous decision.)

WBAN has an opportunity to speak with Stephanie Dobbs, when she was at an airport today, and she called in by phone to give an overview of the bout.  Dobbs was in high spirits and she said that she felt that she performed very well. Dobbs did feel that she won the fight and that fighting in Belinzsky home ground did give her an advantage.  Dobbs said that when she tagged Belinzsky with a very hard shot, the crowd was silent.

WBAN would like to thank JollyDee for the excellent coverage and photos sent in to WBAN. There are OVER 100 digital photos in Photo gallery #282 and #283.
