Sitzes Fights Jeffries for IBA Title
Source: Press Release
August 12, 2004

(AUG 12) On September 23, 2004, at the Tank, in San Jose, California, the Main Event features Paul "The Punisher" Williams 23-0 (17) from Augusta, GA vs. Arturo Reyes 20-12 (18) of Cuidad Obregon, MX in a 10-Round Welterweight clash.

Paul, a Tommy Hearns replica is an undefeated welterweight blessed with height, reach and great hand speed. He has been impressive winning all 23 of his professional fights, 17 coming by way of knockout. Paul takes on his toughest test to date as he faces Arturo Reyes of Cuidad Obregon, Mexico. Reyes, the former Mexican Jr. Welterweight Champion and a knockout artist himself, has brought his skills to California as he now fights out of La Brea Boxing Gym in Los Angeles.

The Co-Main Event is a 10-Round Jr. Featherweight IBA World Title Fight between local favorite Kelsey Jeffries 27-8 (2) of Gilroy, CA vs. Jerry Sitzes 5-5-1 (3) of Springfield, MO.

Kelsey has made numerous appearances at The Tank over the course of HP Fight Night's history. The 28 year old Jeffries is the number one ranked female in the world and a fan favorite among Northern California fight fans. She works hard, trains hard and fights hard for her hometown fans. Jerry "Fists of Fury" Sitzes is certainly up for the challenge of being the underdog, she is scared of nobody and her previous fights indicate exactly that. Recently she gave Melinda Cooper her toughest challenge to date and earlier this year she stopped highly touted Mary Ortega in round 5 of 6. This will certainly be a worthy bout for the IBA World Title.

Attached are photos of Paul Williams, Kelsey Jeffries and Jerry Sitzes. I should have one of Reyes by late today which I will forward ASAP. Jerry will fill you in on the undercard as it develops. Please let me know if you have any questions.
